Bulgarians and Italians, aware of the
need to fight corruption, placed the
emphasis on the requisite
harmonisation of EU judicial rules
and procedures.

CONCLUSION
Between 4 and 7 June 2009, European citizens will be voting to decide on
the composition of the next European Parliament.
A large majority of the 12,000 people that we have spoken to are aware
of the coming elections and are interested in them, as shown by the
proportion who say that they will vote. Their intention to take part is
indicative of their confidence in Europe and in its ability to deal with their
day to day problems.
Citizens feel, however, that they do not have enough information, both in
general and on matters of detail. We note also their wish for reform of the
European Institutions, their concern over the current economic crisis and
their support for measures to protect the environment.
